Sadly, playing politics is the number one concern of the current administration. Killing the Keystone XL is just a part of the game. The stated goal of this administration is to force change away from fossil fuels and this is just another part in that endeavor, nothing more. Chu has repeatedly stated he’d like to see gasoline at the European average, which is $9 to $11 dollars per gallon. How many working class folks, many of whom depend on their own transportation to and from work, can pay that? Everything in this country depends on transportation in one form or another, so you are talking an extreme rise in the direct cost of goods with this policy. They DON’T CARE. You and I, the masses that make up this country, don’t matter. What matters to them is some environmental theory of making the world a better place through restricting mans impact on the environment. How that impacts you is of no concern to them. Neither is the cost… which is why they view spending $375,000 in government tax dollars each on a $40,000 sticker priced Chevy Volt a winning deal.
