Our Seniors Citizens were perhaps the first (and worst) to be hit by the market crash of a couple of years back, with many that had scrimped, saved and invested for retirement wiped out. Yet, over the last several years we’ve seen a minimum wage increase of some 40% (killing growth in jobs and increasing basic prices in the process). Over the course of those last few years we’ve seen little and now no increase in the cost of living adjustment for our Social Security recipients.
That is shameful enough on its own, but at the same time that there is no money to help our seniors we see massive bailouts for banks, brokers, car companies, and the ever democrat friendly unions.
It’s hurtful to see our past hard working retired seniors scrimping and penny pinching and at the same time giving that stoic “we’ll get by” response that they have become so used to giving. We should be tending these folks needs first, for they sacrificed more than most of us will ever know to tend to us.
Our government should be ashamed!
